We’re delighted to announce our new partnership with Beverley Building Society, which has pledged to help us raise funds towards vital maintenance work on our fleet of minibuses.

The Society is currently promoting the increased rate on its Business Postal and Business Online Accounts.

And as well as rewarding businesses, it is pledging to donate 1p to Beverley Community Lift (BCL - Registered Charity No. 1163868) every time a new or existing customer deposits £1 between now and 31 December 2018, up to a maximum donation of £3,000.

The Society’s support will help us keep the wheels turning on our services to elderly and disabled people in Beverley and surrounding area, including Pocklington and Market Weighton – including some of the Society’s own customers.

The Beverley was responding to our recent appeal for help from members of the East Yorkshire community, after the enforcement of European Union rules for transport providers meant we had to relinquish the commercial contract income that supported our community work.

The Society’s business savings accounts represent part of its commitment to supporting –particularly local – businesses, in an environment where many struggle to make any return on their excess funds.

And they have added the BCL donation because they care deeply about supporting our local community.

Society Chief Executive Karl Elliott said: “We’re acutely aware that the current environment is a challenging one, particularly for smaller, independent businesses, not least because many business bank accounts pay little or nothing in interest, and often charge a monthly fee. We wanted to help a little by increasing the return businesses can achieve on any excess savings they may have.

“Because of its situation, BCL needs urgent support to help it continue to provide a vital service and we’re hoping that our pledge will go some way to encouraging other people in the community to get behind their appeal.”

Beverley Community Lift is currently working on a strategy to overcome the impact of the new rules and have been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity people and organisations like Beverley Building Society have shown since we called out for assistance.

We’d urge any companies thinking of opening one of their business accounts: ‘help us reach the maximum of £3,000, and reap rewards yourself at the same time!’.”
